Website Subscription

Access, search and download results from the online database of 7,000 + eligible studies via the GPD Website.

Subscriptions provide access to the coded data in repository of GPD eligible studies via The University of Queensland hosted GPD Website Portal where you can search, view and download study data that meet your search criteria.

Allocated username and passwords are provided to the subscribing person or organization to distribute to staff who then visit the GPD Website and log into the Portal to undertake searches of the database.

You can search and download the GPD website study data on the following fields:
GPD ID # | Police Intervention Category | Title | Abstract | Author(s) | Full Citation | Year Published/Released | DOI/URL link* | Intervention Country | Document Type (journal, book, thesis etc)

* The DOI/URL link takes you to the access pathway to the full text of eligible study. Open-source information can be directly accessed from this point. Documents that are not open-source may require another level of paid access. Direct access to these sources will be subject to your own or your organization’s rights and permissions to access.

Data Extraction

Data extractions from the GPD are available as a consultancy service.

The search criteria are defined by the user and then used by the GPD team to extract a subset of GPD study data from the GPD repository. The extraction can be undertaken from either the repository of 7,000+ eligible documents OR from the full repository of ~300,000 that comprises both ineligible and eligible study data.

Results are emailed in an excel/CSV/PDF file that includes the following fields:
GPD ID # | Police Intervention Category | Title | Abstract | Author(s) | Full Citation | Year Published or Released | DOI/URL link* | Intervention Country | Document Type (journal, book, thesis etc)

The price of an extraction relates to the complexity of the search criteria. The GPD team will work with you to define the search parameters and provide a quote for your consideration.

Special Project Consultation

Access the GPD to gather information about a specific topic or to conduct a systematic or rapid search and review on police or policing.

An organization or individual person wanting to gather together information on police or policing on a specific topic can use the GPD through a Special Project Consultation. A Special Project is established in our data repository platform by our University of Queensland team, providing access to a pre-defined subset of the GPD’s central repository of ~300,000 documents (updated annually) that have already been screened or are still progressing through GPD screening stages.

At the end of the special project, the screening and coding undertaken for the special project is fed back into the GPD’s central repository, ensuring sustained growth and value of the GPD for the future. Training will be provided on using the GPD in our repository platform.

GPD Masterclasses

Use the expertise of GPD project team, led by Professor Lorraine Mazerolle, to build expertise and capacity in the practice of evidence-based policing. 

The masterclasses use the GPD to develop practical (and evidence-based) approaches to difficult problems in policing. Designed for police practitioners, the masterclasses can be tailored to the needs of your organization. The classes can be in person or online. They can be short, 2 hour classes or longer one day classes. They can include small groups of up to 10 officers or larger groups of up to 30 officers.

The masterclasses have been designed, developed and implemented over many years by Professor Lorraine Mazerolle and Associate Professor Sarah Bennett of The University of Queensland. Past clients include: Queensland Police, Victoria Police, New Zealand Police, South Australia Police, Australian Federal Police, and the Australian Border Force.
